Moving forward, all cooking shows must be this stylish. It’s that simple.

It still blows my mind that it’s so hard to find good Mexican food in New York city. I mean, this city has food (and people) from every corner of the world, yet it’s nearly impossible to find the spicy, smothered, flavorful Mexican cooking I grew up with in the South West.
I’ve now found a blog that will help me through the withdraw. Homesick Texan is written by a woman who moved to NYC and also, not so coincidentally, couldn’t find her favorite foods here. It’s very Texan, so it features things like Frito Pie, Chicken Fried Steak and beef, beef and more beef. But it also has all the spicy and smoky flavors I’ve been missing.
It’s not a solution to my problems, but it’s a decent band-aid.
